How do I know if I am buying authentic autographs?August 13, 2012 • Posted by GetItSigned in Autographs • Tags: authentic celebrity autographs, authenticating autographs, autograph authentication, autograph authentication services
Authentic celebrity autographs aren’t that hard to find, but neither are fakes. Therefore, authenticating autographs is one of the most crucial steps when buying an autograph. There are several ways to go about autograph authentication.
If buying on eBay or a website such as this one which has autographs for sale, the best way to make sure the item in question is authentic is to see for yourself. Proof pictures and proof videos are more reliable then autograph authentication services may be, as they allow you to authenticate autographs yourself. If you can see the celebrity in question signing the item with your own two eyes, then that’s that.
While we do try as hard as we can to provide proof pictures of the autograph signing from your favorite country artists whenever possible, not everyone does. In many cases they will use third party autograph authentication services. These services authenticate autographs forensically and try to determine the authenticity of the autographed memorabilia. As a customer, you will have to do your own research and decide if you can trust the authentication company or not.
When shopping here at GetItSigned autographs, know all of our autographs are authentic. View the proof pictures on the item page, and view a detailed description, and when available a proof video, in the product details tab.
